Hey guys & gals,

The Red Lion is crowded on Saturdays, but hopefully we can get a table in the garden at 5.

There are a few questions about our future as a peer group that I'd like to address at this gathering, so be on time if you don't want to miss any decision making. (But feel free to come late if you must, or if you don't care to vote). Start time is 5:00, and I will get down to business no later than 5:20.

Issues I'd like to address as a group:

1. Considering a new format to better accommodate those who want feedback. A willing subject would be chosen who would post their work in progress online at the beginning of the month. The next meeting will begin by focusing on that work only, until we run out of things to say about it. When the person in the spotlight is satisfied, we can move on to general show-n-tell, or whatever else we want to do.

2. There's this little convention type thing coming up that you may have heard about - in San Diego, something about comics. How many of us are going? Shall we organize a group trip to save gas & the planet? We could also try pooling resources with people from the Los Angeles Graphic Novel Book Club, among other groups.

3. Venue search & schedule. We're still looking for the best venue for this kind of thing. Please bring some recommendations for a time and place best suited for workshopping our stuff, while still being a fun social atmosphere. Try to think about it ahead of time so I don't put you on the spot. Alcohol is a plus, but we also need good lighting, a large table and a reasonable noise level.

4. Considering a reward system for the most productive member at each meeting. I know it sounds cheesy, but it won't if you're the one whose tab is paid by the group! Anything that keeps butts in drawing (or writing) chairs, right? This will require everyone's willing cooperation, including bringing a little cash in small bills to every meeting. (Don't worry about this one - we're just going to discuss the idea).

As always, come on out whether you have any new work to show or not. If you're considering coming out for the first time, welcome! Bring some some of your work if you want to, or just come say hi.
